K4-2nd Grade Classes
**FULL FOR THE SPRING**

9:30 - 11:30 a.m.
In the Fall STAA session, students will be introduced to the seven continents with the theme “Around the World in Seven Weeks.” In the spring STAA session, our theme will be “Space.” Information will be introduced through literature, games, and a variety of thematic crafts. The students will have the
opportunity to hear, speak, and memorize some
basic Spanish vocabulary with Mrs. Hall. We are looking forward to semesters filled with fun and learning! This class will be taught by
Sandra Collins, Lucrecia Hall, & Holly Hooks.
There is a $10 materials fee paid directly to the teacher on the first day of class.
3rd-8th Grade Classes
3rd – 5th Grade 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Our fascinating state has a rich history from the Choctaw Indians to Ferdinand Desoto to Martin Luther King, Jr., to Wernher Von Braun. We will cover the fascinating state of Alabama- our history, our rich biodiversity, and unique topography. We will also learn the state song and make an Alabama history notebook together. This class will be
taught by Donna Ayers.
10 Dates Every Catholic Should Know
6th - 8th Grade 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.
This class is based on the book, "Ten Dates Every
Catholic Should Know" by Diane Moczar. It begins
in 313 A.D. with the Edict of Milan and ends with
Our Lady of Fatima in 1917. We will see how God
worked through surprises and chastisements to
shape His Church and change the world. We will
also focus on the saints during this time period and
how they were used by God to renew the Church.
This class will be taught by Donna Ayers.
6th Grade-High School Classes
The Art of Photography
6th-12th Grade 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.
This course has been designed to introduce the students to the world of photography as an art form, and to inspire them to pick up a camera and discover the artist inside. Learning objectives will included: Understanding the objective/physical properties of light and its more subjective artistic qualities; mastering the digital camera to enable the student to make the necessary settings and adjustments to capture the image they were going for; learning about the camera/computer interface through image file creation and management, image processing on a variety of photo-editing programs, & image sharing through prints, postings, slide-shows, etc..; and learning about accessories and equipment to economically set up their own home studio. Through class discussions, practical assignments, and round-table critiques we will all share in the development of our own creative abilities.
This class will be taught by Hank Siegel.
There is an additional course fee of $75 – paid directly
to Mr. Hank Siegel on the first day of class.
7th – 8th Grade 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.
In woodworking class, students will
choose a plan and construct a simple project such
as a birdhouse, stepping stool, or planter box.
Concepts covered will include proper use
and care of tools, types of lumber available,
measuring, hammering, and cutting wood.
Students should plan to bring to class the
following tools: Hammer ( 10 to 16-ounce claw hammer), tape measure, 12-inch wooden ruler,
coping saw and blades, screwdrivers (flat blade
and Phillips) and safety glasses. This class will
be taught by Marlin Anderson.
There is an additional Supply fee of $25.00 to cover supplies (such as nails, screws, glue, sandpaper, etc.) paid directly to Mr. Marlin Anderson on
the first day of class.

We want all families to be able to participate in the co-op.
Please contact Father Jerabek if a scholarship is needed.

St. Paul’s offers confessions at 11:30 a.m. and daily Mass at 12:10 p.m.
STAA Mom’s Book Group will be offered this spring during class time.
